Student Leadership at Minnamurra Public School
The participation of students in leadership roles builds self-esteem, student autonomy, develops a culture of mutual respect and consideration and strengthens student/teacher relationships.
All students in Stage 3 are encouraged and supported to participate in additional leadership opportunities. Through actively fulfilling a leadership role, Stage 3 students are encouraged to refine and enhance a variety of communication and decision making skills.
Minnamurra Public School offers a number of formal leadership roles. These include:
- School Captain and Vice School Captain (Year 6)
- Student Representative Council Class Representative (Years 1-6)
- Student Representative Council President and Vice President (Year 6)
- House Captains and Vice Captains (Year 6)
- Arts and Culture Leader (Year 6)
- Environment Leader (Year 6)
- PBL Leader (Year 6)
- ICT Leader (Year 6)
- Kindergarten Buddy Program (Year 5 - Year 6)
